La fuente, de estilo barroco , fue construida en 1803 por Remigio del Mármol, tras sufrir varias reformas desde el siglo XVI. Se alimenta del agua que brota de un pozo.
Se encuentra junto a la "Fuente de la Salud" del siglo XVI en el centro del pueblo. La fuente consta de 139 chorros , muchos con máscaras de piedra y rostros fantasmales. Son tres estanques que están a diferentes niveles y tienen forma alargada, equipados con asientos .
En el primer estanque se encuentra una estatua de un león peleando y una serpiente, obra atribuida al escultor neoclásico José Álvarez Cubero. El segundo lavabo , obra de Remigio del Mármol, presenta la imagen de Neptuno y Anfitrite saliendo del agua en un carruaje tirado por caballos. El agua cae del segundo al tercer estanque a través de una cascada, y vuelve a salir a través de la máscara de Clero .
