El Palacio de la Merced, antiguo Monasterio de la Merced Calzada , es la sede de la Diputación Provincial de Córdoba.
El monasterio fue construido entre 1245 y 1262 y estuvo dedicado a Santa María de la Merced.
Cristóbal Colón vivió en el antiguo monasterio durante los años que vivió en Córdoba y esperó para reunirse con los Reyes Católicos.
El edificio actual es obra del siglo XVIII. El exterior queda así formado por un gran rectángulo bellamente compuesto en el que la horizontalidad de la fachada se rompe con la verticalidad de la iglesia.
Esta institución conserva una serie de obras artísticas de diferentes épocas. Los más antiguos suelen venir del monasterio , otros han venido como prueba de becas para artistas jubilados pagadas por la empresa.
