El Col du Pin-Bouchain fue el primer puerto que se visitó en el primer Tour de Francia en 1903 y no el Ballon d'Alsace como a menudo se afirma. El puerto se encuentra a una altura de 759 m. Más tarde, este puerto nunca más fue visitado.
