Situada en las alturas de Passy, la Casa de Balzac es la única residencia parisina del novelista que se conserva. Balzac se trasladó allí de 1840 a 1847 para escapar de sus acreedores. Fue detrás de estos muros donde el escritor corrigió La Comédie humaine y escribió La Cousine Bette. La casa está llena de tesoros: el estudio, la biblioteca, objetos y manuscritos originales que pertenecieron al dramaturgo... Una de las habitaciones está dedicada a su gran amor, Madame Hanska.
