Het Huis van Balzac, gelegen op de hoogten van Passy, is de enige overgebleven Parijse woning van de romanschrijver. Balzac verhuisde er van 1840 tot 1847 om aan zijn schuldeisers te ontsnappen. Het was achter deze muren dat de schrijver La Comédie humaine corrigeerde en La Cousine Bette schreef. Het huis zit vol schatten: de studeerkamer, de bibliotheek, voorwerpen en originele manuscripten die toebehoorden aan de toneelschrijver... Een van de kamers is gewijd aan zijn grote liefde, Madame Hanska.
