Hirson es una comuna francesa situada en el departamento de Aisne, de la región de Alta Francia. Es la cabecera y mayor población del cantón de su nombre.Feudo de la Liga Católica durante las guerras de religión de Francia, fue ocupada por las tropas reales de Enrique IV en 1593. Ocupada durante la guerra franco-española entre 1636-1637 y en 1650, año en el que el ejército español destruye el castillo.[3]
