Considerada como la plaza real más bella de Europa, joya del conjunto arquitectónico del siglo XVIII inscrito en el patrimonio mundial de la UNESCO, la plaza Stanislas es un ejemplo perfecto del clasicismo francés. Construida por Emmanuel Héré, está rodeada de puertas finamente trabajadas y adornadas con oro, realizadas por el herrero Jean Lamour, y de majestuosas fuentes diseñadas por Barthélémy Guibal. El Ayuntamiento, el Teatro-Opera y el Museo de Bellas Artes ocupan parte de la plaza.
