Considerata la più bella piazza reale d'Europa, gioiello dell'insieme architettonico del XVIII secolo dichiarato Patrimonio dell'Umanità dall'UNESCO, Place Stanislas è un perfetto esempio di classicismo francese. Costruito da Emmanuel Héré, è circondato da cancelli finemente lavorati e impreziositi dall'oro, opera del fabbro Jean Lamour, e da maestose fontane progettate da Barthélémy Guibal. Il Municipio, il Teatro dell'Opera e il Museo delle Belle Arti occupano parte della piazza.
