Talence es una localidad y comuna francesa situada en el área urbana de la conglomeración de Burdeos, en la región de Nueva Aquitania. Es la cuarta comuna más grande de Gironda, después de Burdeos, Mérignac y Pessac.El territorio de la actual ciudad de Talence sido cubiertas de bosques que estaban dispersos caseríos. La presencia de estos bosques es el origen del nombre "Talence. Este hecho se deriva de la palabra "Tala", que significa "cortar leña." En el siglo XIII que nombres como "Talanssa", "Talencieux", "Talancé.
