El Palacio de Justicia de Metz se establece en el antiguo Palacio del Gobernador de la Provincia de los Tres Obispados. Ha conservado un aspecto algo austero y majestuoso, y una decoración que simboliza el poder militar, como los trofeos y las deidades Marte y Minerva, dios y diosa de la guerra en la mitología romana. De aquí partió La Fayette en 1775 para luchar por la independencia de los Estados Unidos de América.
