En 1891, el industrial Edouard Jaunez se convirtió en propietario del castillo por la suma de 41.000 francos. Optó por transformarlo en un verdadero castillo de moda. Edouard Jaunez fue nombrado caballero por el Kaiser Guillermo II el 13 de mayo de 1904 y recibió el título el 13 de mayo de 1905. En 1912, la administración de los ferrocarriles de Alsacia y Lorena adquirió el castillo y ordenó su demolición para ampliar la estación de clasificación. El 11 de junio de 1982, el Ayuntamiento decidió adquirirlo por la suma de 350.000 francos con el fin de conservar este patrimonio y renovarlo para acoger los servicios municipales. Así es como se trasladó allí el ayuntamiento en diciembre de 1996.
