Nel 1891, l'industriale Edouard Jaunez divenne proprietario del castello per la somma di 41.000 franchi. Ha scelto di trasformarlo in un vero e proprio castello alla moda. Edouard Jaunez fu nominato cavaliere dal Kaiser Guglielmo II il 13 maggio 1904 e ricevette il titolo il 13 maggio 1905. Nel 1912, l'amministrazione delle ferrovie dell'Alsazia e della Lorena acquistò il castello e ne ordinò la demolizione per ampliare la stazione di smistamento. L'11 giugno 1982, il Consiglio comunale decise di acquistarlo per la somma di 350.000 franchi con l'obiettivo di preservare questo patrimonio e ristrutturarlo per ospitare i servizi comunali. È così che il municipio vi è stato trasferito nel dicembre 1996.
