A principios del siglo XX surgió la idea de construir la Iglesia del Santo Salvador en Morsbach. El 1 de noviembre de 1900, el Papa León XIII emitió una circular a todos los creyentes pidiéndoles que iniciaran el nuevo siglo con el espíritu del Salvador.
Basándose en esta circular, el párroco de Morsbach, Nicolas Folschweiller, tuvo la idea de construir la iglesia del Santo Salvador.
En 1907 se construyó y consagró la iglesia.
