All'inizio del XX secolo nacque l'idea di costruire la chiesa del Santo Salvatore a Morsbach. Il 1° novembre 1900, Papa Leone XIII emanò una circolare a tutti i credenti chiedendo loro di iniziare il nuovo secolo nello spirito del Salvatore.
Sulla base di questa circolare, il parroco di Morsbach, Nicolas Folschweiller, ebbe l'idea di costruire la chiesa del Santissimo Salvatore.
Nel 1907 fu costruita e consacrata la chiesa.
