Situada en el pueblo de l'Hôpital, en la "variante histórica" del Camino de Santiago entre Soulac-sur-Mer y Vendays-Montalivet, la capilla de l'Hôpital, cuyos cimientos se remontan al siglo XII, ha experimentado un cierto renacimiento en los últimos años, principalmente gracias a la asociación de los Amigos de la Capilla de San Juan Bautista de l'Hôpital. Esta asociación se compromete a abrir regularmente la capilla a los visitantes, a participar en su conservación y restauración y a organizar actos culturales (conferencias, conciertos, exposiciones).
Los visitantes aprecian la frescura y el encanto del lugar. Destacan la claridad, la sencillez y la belleza de los muebles y los adornos.
