Jardín de recreo diseñado en el siglo XVI por Pierre de Mareuil, abad comendatario de Brantôme de 1538 a 1556. Tres estaciones de descanso renacentistas con diseños decorativos de inspiración italiana decoran sus paseos. El escritor Pierre de Bourdeille, alias Brantôme, abad comendatario de 1556 hasta su muerte en 1614 y sobrino del predecesor, estaba muy encariñado con este jardín heredado de su tío. Sus primos le apodaron “mi primo del Puente” o “Señor del Huerto”. Un puente acodado del siglo XVI cuya entrada está marcada por un elegante pabellón renacentista permite el acceso. Tiene su forma original de la necesidad de atravesar el río Dronne y su canal que rodea la ciudad.
