Pequeño afluente del Hérault, de 13 km de longitud, el Buèges nace en Méjanel en una hermosa cuenca de aguas claras. Tras un viaje por el subsuelo, el agua, infiltrada en los suelos calcáreos del sur de Larzac (La Vacquerie), emerge aquí desde la Séranne a través de una capa de suelo impermeable (exsurgencia).
