El bosque del Ermitain ocupa 614 hectáreas y alberga principalmente castaños, robles y abedules. Se han identificado varios árboles notables, entre ellos un roble que lleva el nombre de "Le Patriarche".
Representa uno de los dos bosques estatales de los Deux Sèvres y está gestionado como bosque público por la ONF (Office Nationale des Forêts).
Sus caminos son accesibles a pie, en bicicleta y a caballo.
Acceda después de Souvigné, en el cruce de la D10 y la D5, encontrará un aparcamiento arbolado.
