El Pont Neuf, un puente de mulas del siglo XII, está situado en la antigua ruta de la molienda y la fabricación de sal que servía a los molinos que salpican el valle de Sèvre Niortaise.
El Haut Val de Sèvre era una importante zona de producción de mulas y mulos exportados a Europa y al Nuevo Mundo. Ste-Néomaye, lugar de tránsito comercial, acoge, desde el siglo XVIII, la feria de la mula, que seguía siendo famosa en el siglo XIX.
De unos 20 metros de largo, inicialmente colocado sobre un pavimento, tiene seis arcos, todos de un modelo diferente; varias veces arrastrados por la inundación, algunos arcos fueron sustituidos y ampliados
También era utilizado por los peregrinos que iban a Santiago de Compostela.
