The Pont Neuf, a mule bridge from the 12th century, is located on the old mill and salt path serving the mills that dot the Sèvre Niortaise valley.
The Haut Val de Sèvre was a high place of production of mules and mules exported to Europe and the New World. Ste-Neomaye, place of commercial transit, hosted, since the 18th century, the mule fair, still famous in the 19th century.
About 20 meters long, initially laid on a paving, it has six arches, all of a different model; several times washed away by the flood, certain arches have been replaced and widened.
It was also used by pilgrims going to Santiago de Compostela.
