En las afueras de la aldea de Dorst, a pocos pasos de la capilla, hay un cementerio menonita de principios del siglo XIX, en el que aún pueden verse varias tumbas interesantes de esa época. Se caracterizan por una rica decoración vegetal, la ausencia de cruces y numerosas citas de la Biblia. Los menonitas son originarios de Suiza, de donde huyeron de la persecución. Encontraron refugio en los países vecinos en los siglos XVII y XVIII.
Abogaban por una vida sencilla y respetuosa con la naturaleza. Tenían un conocimiento muy profundo de la agricultura, lo que les hacía ser respetados como arrendatarios, viviendo a menudo en grandes explotaciones.
El cementerio menonita de Dorst está situado no lejos del gran Dorsterhof. Esta granja ha sido gestionada por familias menonitas durante más de un siglo.
