El 11 de abril de 1113, una bula papal reconoce que los monjes de Saint-Nicaise de Reims poseen en Fligny: el molino común, tierras, un prado y una cuarta parte de los diezmos. La iglesia, construida con una hermosa piedra ocre, fue fortificada tras los ataques de los imperiales en 1555 y 1637. Una torre refuerza la defensa de la iglesia en su cabecera; esta torre ha sido nivelada. La base de la mampostería es de ladrillo, probablemente una antigua reparación. Una piedra de goteo recorre el edificio. El muro bien construido está perforado por aberturas para el vigía y la couleuvrine, una larga y esbelta boca de incendios, a menudo apoyada en una horquilla en el suelo. Obsérvese el refuerzo con anclajes de hierro forjado y tirantes.
