El Moulin de Chitré es un antiguo molino común de la Edad Media, vinculado al castillo del mismo nombre.
Tras producir harina y aceite, el molino se equipó con maquinaria de vanguardia a finales del siglo XIX: un generador eléctrico, una bomba de agua y una cámara de hielo, todo ello accionado por una potente rueda "Sagebien". En aquella época, pocos sitios eran capaces de reunir en un mismo lugar todas las "nuevas tecnologías" heredadas de la Revolución Industrial.
El desván del Moulin de Chitré se ha convertido en un museo sobre el tema del agua y la reserva natural de Pinail.
El mirador ofrece una vista espléndida y única de las orillas del Vienne, con su presa y su porte marinière del siglo XV enfrente. En el Moulin de Chitré también encontrará un área de recepción, una sala de exposiciones, un jardín natural y mesas de picnic
