El cantante florentino de la plaza St Nizier es una obra de Paul Dubois , escultor y pintor que nació en Nogent-Sur-Seine en 1829 y murió en París en 1905. Fue uno de los artistas más destacados de finales del siglo XIX.
Esta escultura, realizada tras su viaje a Italia, fue premiada con una medalla de honor en el Salón de París de 1863 y se considera una obra importante que combina el detalle realista con la delicadeza y elegancia de las formas.
Una copia en bronce dorado se exhibe permanentemente en el Museo de Orsay en París.
