Esta céntrica e histórica plaza de Grasse recibió su nombre del 24 de agosto de 1944 , día en que Grasse fue liberada de la ocupación alemana durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, como homenaje a los combatientes y liberadores caídos . La plaza se encuentra en un cruce de calles antiguas en el corazón de la ciudad.
