Aquesta cèntrica i històrica plaça de Grasse va rebre el seu nom del 24 d'agost de 1944 , dia en què Grasse va ser alliberada de l'ocupació alemanya durant la Segona Guerra Mundial, com a homenatge als combatents i alliberadors caiguts . La plaça es troba en una cruïlla de carrers antics al cor de la ciutat.
A prop de llocs d'interès com la catedral , l' ajuntament , la Place aux Aires i el Museu Fragonard . Un espai tranquil i obert amb terrasses, bancs i un suau pendent, típic dels centres urbans provençals.
