Tate Modern es el nombre por el que se conoce el Museo Nacional Británico de Arte Moderno. Se encuentra en el centro de Londres y forma parte del grupo de museos Tate junto con Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool y Tate St Ives, estos dos últimos situados fuera de Londres.
Está alojado en la antigua central de energía de Bankside, originalmente diseñada por sir Giles Gilbert Scott y construida en dos fases entre 1947 y 1963. La central eléctrica fue cerrada en 1981 y el edificio fue reconvertido en museo por los arquitectos suizos Herzog & de Meuron, quienes tras resultar vencedores en un concurso internacional dieron al edificio su imagen actual.
