Esta calle en Rode fue el escenario de uno de los asesinatos más infames del siglo XIX cuando Constance Kent asesinó a su medio hermano de 4 años en Road Hill House a la edad de 16 años.
Confesó su culpa a un clérigo de la Iglesia de Inglaterra. El clérigo retuvo cualquier información adicional bajo el argumento de que había sido recibida bajo el sello de la "confesión sacramental".
Sin embargo, Constance Kent fue condenada a muerte, pero esta pena fue conmutada por cadena perpetua debido a su juventud en ese momento y su confesión. Cumplió veinte años y fue liberada en 1885 a la edad de 41 años.
