Las explosiones del 11 de diciembre de 2005 en Hertfordshire se produjeron en el depósito petrolero de Buncefield, a unos 35 km de Londres. Dichas explosiones se produjeron en uno de los mayores depósitos de almacenamiento de combustible de Gran Bretaña, el cual se encuentra cerca de la población de Hemel Hempstead, en Hertfordshire.
El incendio desatado como consecuencia de las explosiones logró ser extinguido en la tarde del 13 de diciembre. Sin embargo, uno de los depósitos volvió a prenderse fuego ese mismo día, por lo que los bomberos lo dejaron arder para consumir el combustible, en lugar de intentar apagarlo nuevamente.
