El castillo de Kingsgate, situado en los acantilados sobre Kingsgate Bay, Broadstairs, Kent, fue construido para Lord Holland en la década de 1760 como el bloque de establos de su residencia campestre cercana, Holland House. Su residencia principal era Holland House en Kensington, cerca de Londres. El nombre Kingsgate está relacionado con un aterrizaje incidental de Carlos II el 30 de junio de 1683, aunque otros monarcas ingleses también han utilizado esta cala, como Jorge II en 1748. Posteriormente, el edificio fue la residencia de John Lubbock, 1er barón Avebury.
Los arquitectos obtuvieron un complejo consentimiento de planificación en la década de 1990 para la conversión del castillo en 31 apartamentos, mejoras estéticas y cambios funcionales, que se construyeron poco después.
