Il Castello di Kingsgate sui dirupi sopra Kingsgate Bay, Broadstairs, Kent, fu costruito per Lord Holland negli anni 1760 come blocco delle stalle della sua residenza di campagna vicina, Holland House. La sua residenza principale era Holland House a Kensington, vicino a Londra. Il nome Kingsgate è legato a un approdo occasionale di Carlo II il 30 giugno 1683, anche se altri monarchi inglesi hanno utilizzato questa insenatura, come Giorgio II nel 1748. L'edificio fu successivamente la residenza di John Lubbock, 1° Barone Avebury.
Gli architetti ottennero un complesso consenso di pianificazione negli anni '90 per la conversione del castello in 31 appartamenti, miglioramenti estetici e modifiche funzionali, costruiti poco dopo.
