El Ponte della Maddalena es un puente que cruza el río Serchio. Era un cruce fluvial vital en la Via Francigena, una antigua carretera hacia Roma para aquellos que venían de Francia y una importante ruta de peregrinación medieval. El puente es un notable ejemplo de la ingeniería medieval. Lleva el nombre de María Magdalena porque aquí estaba la estatua a los pies del puente en la orilla oriental.
