La catedral de Siracusa ?, construida sobre la estructura de un templo de la Grecia clásica, fue reconstruida tras el terremoto del año 1693 por Andrea Palma con una portada en estilo barroco tardío o rococó.
La fachada, casi en movimiento, fue reconstruida con estilo rococó tras el terremoto del año 1693. Esta reparación fue llevada a cabo por Andrea Palma, el mismo arquitecto que la construyó, ya que cuando el terremoto asoló Sicilia la fachada aún no estaba finalizada.
