La diócesis de Aosta es una sede de la Iglesia católica sufragánea de la arquidiócesis de Turín perteneciente a la región eclesiástica Piemonte. En el 2013 contaba 125.336 bautizados sobre 128.612 habitantes. Actualmente está gobernada por el obispo Franco Lovignana.
A la entrada de cada nuevo obispo, es tradición que la Autoridades lo reciban en la entrada del Valle, en Pont-Saint-Martin, dándole un sombrero verde.
