En el llamado Kanounenhiwwel en la ciudad de Luxemburgo se encuentra el monumento nacional "Solidaridad Luxemburguesa". Fue erigido en memoria de los muertos de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y para recordar la resistencia y la solidaridad del pueblo luxemburgués contra la ocupación alemana. El patio adoquinado simboliza las prisiones, campos de concentración y cuarteles. Una simple piedra tosca en la capilla representa a las víctimas de la guerra. Ante el monumento arde una llama eterna.
