Echteld, es un pueblo en el municipio de Neder-Betuwe, en la provincia neerlandesa de Gelderland. Se encuentra un poco al este de Tiel y tiene aproximadamente 1.050 habitantes. En 1178 se menciona por primera vez Echtelte. El lugar era una señoría diaria. En 1271 ya se hablaba del castillo Wijenburg, llamado así en honor a la familia Wijhe que poseyó el castillo durante cinco siglos. La Oudmunster en Utrecht habría recibido en 1139 los derechos sobre los diezmos y censos de Echteld.
