Leunen es una aldea en el municipio de Venray, en la provincia holandesa de Limburgo. La aldea tenía el 1 de enero de 2021 2.265 habitantes, distribuidos en un área de 1003 ha, lo que la convierte en la segunda aldea más grande de Venray en cuanto a población. Es posible que Leunen provenga de la palabra "Loenen", que significa "un hermoso lugar tranquilo junto al agua". A lo largo de los siglos, esto se ha deformado hasta "Luenen" y finalmente ha llegado a ser Leunen. También los nombres de las calles en Leunen tienen su origen, y estos se derivan del significado de los vecindarios y granjas, o en algunos casos de personas o santos destacados.
