Pingjum es un pueblo en el municipio de Súdwest-Fryslân en Friesland, en el norte de los Países Bajos, y se encuentra a 6.6 kilómetros al suroeste de Harlingen. Tenía una población de alrededor de 585 en enero de 2017. El pueblo se mencionó por primera vez en el siglo XIII como Penningem, y significa "asentamiento de Penne". Pingjum es un pueblo terp de la alta edad media que se desarrolló en el Marneslenk en una estructura de cuadrícula. Según la leyenda, los primeros colonos fueron pastores de Drenthe que decidieron construir los terps y alrededor de 1100 añadieron diques para una mayor protección contra el mar.
