Drostestraat 20, 3958 BK Amerongen
Ya en 1286 se menciona un castillo en Amerongen. A lo largo de los años, la torre de piedra se convirtió en un verdadero recinto fortificado. Como suele ocurrir, este castillo también no pudo escapar de destrucciones y devastaciones. Sin embargo, fue reconstruido una y otra vez. La forma actual data del siglo XVII y se completó en 1684. En esa época, la simetría era muy popular y eso se puede ver claramente en el exterior. Un verdadero foso con un puente correspondiente completa este castillo.
Delante del castillo hay una estatua ecuestre del Rey-Stathouder Guillermo III, quien visitó el castillo en varias ocasiones. El último residente fue el emperador alemán Guillermo II, que vivió en el castillo durante un año y medio y finalmente firmó su abdicación aquí. En mayo de 1920 se mudó a Huis Doorn.
