Se encuentra al sureste de esta ciudad debido al crecimiento de Sneek, en las zonas industriales de Houkesloot y It Ges. El núcleo del pueblo está al noreste de la A7 y el Broeresloot y se sitúa en la orilla oeste del agua Ges, que forma la conexión con el Houkesloot y el canal Prinses Margriet. Oppenhuizen forma junto con Uitwellingerga tanto un pueblo gemelo como un pueblo doble. Las dos aldeas se conocen conjuntamente como Top y Twel o Top & Twel. El pueblo gemelo tiene varios puertos, incluidas diferentes marinas.
