Venlo es una ciudad en la parte norte de la provincia neerlandesa de Limburg y el núcleo urbano del municipio del mismo nombre. La ciudad cuenta con 35,300 habitantes (a julio de 2008, fuente: CBS).
Venlo es una ciudad comercial, de transporte e industrial. La ciudad es el centro para la amplia zona así como un centro comercial para la vecina región del Ruhr en Alemania. El municipio de Venlo limita directamente con los distritos alemanes de Kleve y Viersen. Venlo se encuentra en un meandro del Mosa y tiene un centro histórico, aunque la Segunda Guerra Mundial causó muchos daños.
