La torre de agua en Sint Jansklooster fue construida en 1931-1932 por Waterleiding Maatschappij Overijssel. La torre de agua tiene una altura de 45,7 metros y un depósito de agua de 400 m³. La torre está relacionada en cuanto a diseño con las torres de agua de Steenwijkerwold y Raalte. En 2011, la torre fue transferida por la empresa de agua Vitens a la organización sin fines de lucro BOEi. La oficina de arquitectura Zecc elaboró un plan para restaurar la torre y reasignarla como torre de observación. Desde cuatro ventanas, el visitante puede contemplar Steenwijk, Emmeloord, Zwolle y Meppel. El plan es ejecutado por la empresa constructora Jurriëns Noord.
