El arquitecto Karel Muller ha realizado en el Sprengenberg, que se eleva a 35 metros de altura, una de las casas de campo más notables y destacadas en la frontera entre Salland y Twente: la Villa Sprengenberg. Comúnmente conocida como la torrecita de Palthe, en honor al residente que mandó construir la villa. La villa no se puede visitar, pero la finca que la rodea es de acceso libre. Forma parte de la reserva de caza de Haarle, que a su vez es parte del Parque Nacional De Sallandse Heuvelrug. El Sprengenberg toma su nombre de las fuentes subterráneas de agua que están presentes aquí. Antiguamente, había una extensa área de brezales, ahora predominan los bosques. Una manada de Highlands escoceses pasta para mantener el brezo que queda.
