Mattemburgh es una finca situada al norte de Hoogerheide y Woensdrecht y a ambos lados del camino entre Bergen op Zoom y Woensdrecht. La finca tiene una superficie de 600 ha. La finca fue fundada por P.J. Cuypers, quien fue alcalde de Bergen op Zoom de 1818 a 1827. A partir de 1807, compró terrenos, y su esposa, Maria van Mattemburgh, fundó la casa señorial en 1847. El jardín de estilo se diseñó entre 1843 y 1878. La bisnieta de Cuypers, Marie Louise Cuypers, se casó con el conde francés Pelletier de Chambure, a quien debía su apodo de la condesa. Cuando la condesa murió en 1967, le pidió a su esposo que vendiera la finca a la Stichting Brabants Landschap, lo cual sucedió en 1970. Además, el jardín y la casa señorial fueron donados al Brabants Landschap tras la muerte del conde en 1982.
