El dominio De Oude Buisse Heide fue donado en 1945 a Natuurmonumenten por el artista visual Rik Roland Holst y su esposa, la poetisa Henriëtte Roland Holst. Aquí se encuentran tres edificios que están irrevocablemente conectados entre sí: De Buisse Hoeve, la Angorahoeve, -la residencia de verano de la pareja y diseñada por el propio artista- y el Atelier de Rik Roland Holst, un diseño de Margaret Staal-Kropholler. La Buisse Hoeve, que tiene más de 200 años, con la Herenkamer como espacio central, fue utilizada por la pareja para recibir a sus numerosos invitados como el arquitecto H.P. Berlage, el pintor Charley Toorop y el poeta Herman Gorter. Desde 1900 hasta el fallecimiento de Henriëtte en 1952, pasaron muchos veranos en el dominio.
