La Warmoesstraat es una de las calles más antiguas de Ámsterdam. Corre paralela al Damrak desde Nieuwebrugsteeg hasta la Dam.
La actual Warmoesstraat tuvo hasta el siglo XVII dos nombres: Kerkstraat para la parte norte hasta la Oude Kerk y Warmoesstraat para la parte sur. El nombre se deriva de warmoezerijen, relacionado con el comercio de verduras. En 1957 se añadió la parte junto al Hotel Krasnapolsky en la Dam. Sin embargo, el primer tramo de la Warmoesstraat se llama Sint Olofspoort, en honor a la puerta de la ciudad medieval que una vez estuvo allí.
