St. Jozefkapel
En 1699 se construyó en el barrio de Smakt una capilla en honor a San José. Esto por encargo del Barón Johannes, Alberto van der Boye y Neerijsche, señor del Castillo de Macken. El principal motivo para la construcción fue la gran distancia de Smakt a la iglesia parroquial en el pueblo de Venray. A lo largo del siglo XVIII, la devoción a San José se desarrolló algo y la capilla comenzó a atraer a peregrinos. No fue hasta 1887 que Smakt se convirtió en un importante lugar de peregrinación. Es el único lugar de peregrinación de San José en los Países Bajos. San José es el patrón de una vida feliz, de la familia cristiana y de una muerte bendita. Aún hoy, la capilla de San José atrae a un gran número de visitantes.
