La Asociación RAI se trasladó en 1922 del Palacio de los Trabajos Públicos a un edificio propio, un pabellón de exposiciones semi-permanente en la calle Ferdinand Bol cerca de la plaza Cornelis Troost en Ámsterdam, que fue inaugurado el 31 de octubre de 1922. Este edificio fue reemplazado en 1961 por el actual edificio RAI en la plaza Europaplein. Tras la entrega del nuevo RAI, el antiguo edificio sirvió como sala de deportes hasta su demolición en 1975. En este terreno se han construido, entre otros: el Hotel Okura, el gimnasio De Pijp y un edificio de viviendas para ancianos llamado "d'Oude Raai". Entre estos edificios se encuentra una granja infantil.
