El antiguo municipio de Vleuten-De Meern es desde el 1 de enero de 2001 una parte del municipio de Utrecht, la capital de la provincia holandesa de Utrecht. El municipio incluía las aldeas de Vleuten, De Meern, Haarzuilens y sus áreas periféricas. En 1999, el municipio tenía 19.430 habitantes.
En 1811 se formaron cuatro municipios a partir de los entonces existentes Temaat, De Haar, Vleuten y De Meern, Ouden Rhijn, Heijcop, Papendorp, Galekop, Veldhuizen, Reijerscop-Kreuningen y Reijerscop-St. Pieters: Vleuten, Oudenrijn, Veldhuizen y Haarzuilens. De estos municipios surgió el 1 de enero de 1954 el nuevo municipio: Vleuten-De Meern. Sin embargo, el antiguo municipio de Oudenrijn se dividió en una parte oriental que fue añadida al municipio de Utrecht y una parte occidental que iría a Vleuten-De Meern. La frontera entre estas dos partes se situaba en la actual carretera nacional A2. El 1 de enero de 2001 se llevó a cabo nuevamente una reorganización municipal, en la que todo Vleuten-De Meern fue incorporado al municipio de Utrecht.
