Roermond ) es un municipio en el centro de la provincia neerlandesa de Limburgo. Tiene 59.142 habitantes y una superficie de 74,19 km². El municipio cuenta con dos dialectos: el Roermonds y el Swalms. Roermond jugó un papel importante en la reorganización municipal en el centro de Limburgo en 2007. Inicialmente, se iba a ampliar el municipio con Swalmen. Roermond temía que la expansión solo con Swalmen no daría suficiente capacidad administrativa. Swalmen buscaba una fusión con Beesel. El tratamiento del proyecto de ley en la Cámara de Representantes y en el Senado condujo a la ejecución de la propuesta original presentada por la provincia, lo que resultó en la creación, a partir del 1 de enero de 2007, de un municipio central de aproximadamente 54.000 habitantes.
